Snack Attack!
The best snacks won’t be from packages (or, at least, they won’t be very processed). Think fruits, veggies, nuts, etc. Sometimes, though, you just need something that you can throw in your bag or keep in your desk at work. I love these “just a handful” packs from Trader Joe’s, but you can make your own using nuts and dried fruit. The best thing about these is that they’re pre-portioned and come in at about 210 calories. I eat these and a piece of fruit or yogurt to create one of my small meals. If you make your own mix, make individual baggies or portions so you don’t end up eating more than “just a handful.”
Nuts and dried fruit also makes a perfect pre- or post-workout snack, what with all the protein from the nuts and a few carbs from the dried fruit.
