Hey Nutritionista...What do you think of this Web site?Legit but kitchy health site or pop culture anorexic vomit?
I’m going to have to explore it further. So far, it looks like it has some really good tips and recipes, but I’m completely turned off by the title. My focus is always, ALWAYS on health, not appearance. “Skinny in the City” just sends the absolute wrong message. Your goal should be to get to a weight where you’re medically healthy, not to be “skinny.” (I’m somewhat skeptical of BMI, but if that works for you, that’s definitely a better way to gauge where you’re at than the number on the scale.) Also, the little cartoon icons of the girls? A little gross.
I just hate the “skinny bitch” attitude that has become so popular (obviously sparked by the books). They’re perpetuating the myth that people who aren’t “skinny” (in quotes because who defines what’s skinny?) aren’t fashionable, aren’t assertive, and have low self-esteem.
“Healthy in the City” isn’t a very catchy title, but it would sure be more appealing to ME.
