My Day in Food: Sweet & Creamy

Have I mentioned that I love Greek yogurt? I’m sure I have a million times. I’ve been buying full-fat Fage Total plain Greek yogurt, and it’s the best!
It’s one of the most versatile foods ever. It can go sweet, savory, and everywhere in between. This morning, I used it as the base for a surprisingly decadent, sweet, and creamy — but still light and refreshing — breakfast.
I starting by spreading half an individual container of yogurt onto the bottom of a bowl. Then, I microwaved a whole chopped apple — which had been sprinkled with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a splash of vanilla — for two minutes. The juices from the apple and seasonings seeped into the yogurt to make it sweeter and more flavorful. I topped the whole thing with half a package of Just A Handful Trek Mix from TJ’s.
This combination was definitely a winner, but the key was the softened apple.
