Wine and Dine

Every Friday, we have Beer Bash at my work, which translates to: “We, your employers, provide you with free alcohol to drink at your leisure.” When I first started, I was weirded out by it. Drinking at work? Noooo. But now, I kinda dig it. I usually have a glass of wine. Today, I tried a white.

The wine was leftover from last week (I think), so I’m pretty sure it was on its way to becoming vinegar. I didn’t like it, so I didn’t drink it.

Dinner was courtesy of my dad: a grass-fed burger with bacon and gruyere, broccoli with a homemade wasabi cream sauce (roux with heavy cream, gruyere, parmesan, cream cheese, and a spoonful of wasabi mayo), and a sliced pear to balance out all the rich cheese. I had a second serving of broccoli with sauce and a small clementine for dessert.
