Friday Day in Food
Lunch, 3:00pm: Seared salmon salad with Asian dressing, Trader Joe’s apple cranberry bran muffin, half a small bowl of hot and sour soup (not pictured).
For more on those muffins, which I’m still a huge fan of, see this post I wrote awhile ago. This lunch was… disappointing, to say the least. I bought the salad from the cafeteria, and it was just a reminder of why I usually don’t like prepared salads. The lettuce was limp, the tomatoes had many rotted spots (underneath so I couldn’t see them before I bought the salad), the dressing was way too sweet, and the salmon was fishy. I ate about half of it before giving up. A coworker took pity on me and sweetly offered to give me her leftover hot and sour soup. Not being one to turn down spicy Asian soup, I had some. Still, that was $7 down the drain. Lesson learned, though… store-bought salads are gross and disappointing 90% of the time.
